Temple Owl Nick Sharga nominated for Philly-SIDA-Academic All-Area Team

​

   PHILADELPHIA, PA, December 4, 2017- Temple redshirt senior Nick Sharga has been nominated for the 2017 Philly SIDA-Academic All-Area football team. Sharga, a fan favorite of Owl Nation, personifies excellence.

In order to be eligible for All-Academic honors, an athlete must at least be in their second year at the institution and have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher, 3.0 or higher for football players. Sharga, a senior kinesiology major, holds a 3.7 GPA.

  Sharga walked on the team in 2014, and is currently the starting fullback for the team, wearing a single-digit number on his jersey (4), an honor that is awarded to the toughest players on the team. This season, Sharga is among the team leaders with 8 special teams tackles.

  Sharga is passionate about his performance, “I like to compete off the field as well as on it, so keeping up the grades in the classroom is second nature to me. I've got to be the best at everything I can."

  Philly-SIDA- Academic All-Area winners will be announced Wednesday, December 6.
